The lower and upper Kern River Valley offers hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing, boating, wildlife viewing, and scenic drives. The Trail of 100 Giants is also a popular destination for exploring giant sequoias.
The Kern River is within a 5-minute drive to Kernville at Riverside Park and provides opportunities for rafting, kayaking, fishing, swimming, photography, and wildlife observing.
Yes! The area offers family-friendly outdoor activities including a new playground, new basketball court, and pickleball court at Riverside Park in Kernville. There is also a skate-park in Lake Isabella. Activities for families include the lake, river, hiking, playgrounds, biking, fishing, and exploring the surrounding mountains.
Yes. Guests have private on-site parking on the concrete driveway that can accomodate approx. 6-8 cars, plus there is parking on gravel that can accommodate additional vehicles. In addition, there is off-site street parking to the front of the property. The road is paved to get to the property.
Yes! Our property is pet friendly. We can accommodate one dog with a $75.00 pet fee. Guests' pet cannot be left unattended in the home. Pets must be accompanied during your daily outings.
Sierra Vista Del Lago Lakeview Retreat provides internet, Wi-Fi, Heating and Cooling (A/C) for year-round comfort. Guests have access to laundry facilities (washer/Dryer) during your stay. The home has a fully equipped kitchen for guests who want to prepare meals during the stay. During winter, a pellet stove and 1 complimentary pellet bag is provided. Additional pellet bags are $20.00. We also offer a playpen for your littles with a 24 hour advance notice.
Absolutely! The Lake Isabella area is known for its dark skies and minimal light pollution, making it an excellent place for stargazing and enjoying views of the Milky Way. The property has motion-activated outdoor lighting, plus a large candelabra in the front porch area.

A security deposit of $500 is required to cover any damages, and will be released 24hrs after the end of your stay.

Wildlife - Be aware of bears, deer, ground squirrels, snakes, spiders, and other animals and pests surrounding the property. After all, the Sequoia National Forest is their home too!
Terrain - The property is 1/4 acre. The backyard offers guest amenities on the first level for guest to use while at our home. The 2nd level terrace, has uneven terrain, stairs, steep and uneven areas. The 3rd terrace is uneven and very steep with no fencing. Please be alert Improvements are in progress for the enjoyment of our guests.
Weather - inclement weather to include, heavy rain, hail, wind and snow may occur while you are our guest.
Lake Conditions - Water levels may fluctuate depending on Mt. Whitney snowmelt and water release to the lower Kern River.
Wildfires - Wildfires are known to be part of the Kern River Valley, Be aware of local news, evacuation orders, and know your exits out of the area.
Construction 0n-site - Outdoor improvements are in progress to make the property more comfortable for our guests. No construction is conducted while we have guests at the property.
Power Outages - Southern California Edison will turn off the power grid in the area due to high and heavy winds, wildfires or for maintenance. Thi is out of our control. We will inform guests if a notification is received during guests stays.
Internet - WiFi can be spotty at times. This is out of our control. After all, you are in the Sequoia National Forest! :)
